Watson the IBM Supercomputer on Jeopardy!
Not really sure how I feel about this episode of Jeopardy, I mean the point of the show is that the humans are suppose be the ones who are like computers because of their vast amounts of knowledge. I find it kind of insulting that anyone would go up there knowing that a damn supercomputer is competing against them. It’s like what were they suppose to do?
Yes, Watson got a few answers wrong (surprisingly) but even still, who wants that type of pressure? I find the skills of the two human competitors to be quite amazing, but they are not computers. And all this showed is that maybe humans are only as smart as the computer they operate, but what happens when the computer knows more about Legal “E’s” than you do?
